The highly anticipated WBO Light Flyweight title bout between defending champion Donnie Nietes (35-1-4, 21) and mandatory challenger Francisco Rodriguez Jr (17-2-1, 11) has unfortunately been pushed back a week from it's originally scheduled date of July 4th.
The bout, now set to take place on July 11th, has been pushed back due to a very minor injury suffered by the Mexican challenger.
Rodriguez's injury is said to have been a very minor one to his ankle and has only forced a 1-week delay for the bout. That week isn't expected to make a difference to either man come fight night and Nietes has himself said that it won't effect his preparations.
Not only has the main event been pushed back but so too has the entire ALA promoted show which also features the exciting Mark Magsayo (10-0, 8) and the debut of the much touted Kevin Jake Cataraja (0-0), both of whom are regarded as being among the brightest of the "next generation" of Filipino fighters.
