Whilst we have known for a while that Indonesia's popular and exciting Daud Cino Yordan (32-3-0-1, 23), pictured, would return to the ring on April 2nd in Perth, Australia. What we didn't know was who Yordan was going to be fighting. This past week by however Yordan's opponent was announced as being Ghana's Emmanuel Tagoe (22-1, 9).
The 27 year old Tagoe is currently on a 22 fight winning streak follow a loss on his debut and is highly ranked by the WBA who have him at #6 in the Super Featherweight division. Of course though Yordan is the IBO Lightweight champion and this fight would be taking place at 135lbs with Yordan's title on the line.
Wilst Yordan has struggled in recent fights with a loss to the excellent Simpiwe Vetyeka and close victories over both Daniel Eduardo Brizuela and Sipho Taliwe it's also worth noting that Tagoe has also struggled in 2 of his last 3 fights including a controversial victory over Filipino Ronald Pontillas.
Although this bout is yet to be listed on Boxrec.com we are assured that the bout is already signed and that Yordan has been given tape of Tagoe to study and build a game plan from.
From what we've seen of Tagoe he is a clever and fast fighter though lacks real power. He could well give Yordan a genuinely tough bout with his speed though we'd assume that Yordan's pressure and work rate would eventually grind down and defeat Tagoe in what could be a genuinely thrilling clash of styles.
