This coming Friday in Indonesian fight fans get the chance to see WBA Asia Pacific/WBO Africa Lightweight champion Daud Yordan (34-3-0-1, 24) takes on Japan's fun to watch Yoshitaka Kato (29-6-1, 9) [加藤善孝] .
Today, ahead of that bout, both men attended a press conference and both sounded confident though accepted they were in for a tough fight.
Yordan, the local star, said that he wasn't going to under-estimate his Japanese foe, but he was looking to score a KO over the tough Japanese fighter, who's only stoppage loss came almost 6 years ago against Mitsuya Omura. Kato on the other hand admitted he had been watching footage of Yordan to prepare for this one and knows that the Indonesian is a tough and hard fighter, though he is in Indonesia to win.
Interestingly Yordan's team seemed to suggest a win here would put him into the perfect position to challenger WBO champion Terry Flanagan in the near future.
