It was announced earlier today that former world title challenger Daiki Kaneko (20-3-3, 13) would be returning to the ring, for his second fight since suffering a hard fought defeat to Takashi Uchiyama. The opponent for Kaneko has been announced as Cirilo Espino (19-13-3, 12) from the Philippines with the bout to take place on August 2nd at the Korakuen Hall.
Whilst's Kaneko is the biggest name on the card he's not the only notable fighter on the show, in fact he's not even in the best bout on the card. Instead the stand out bout is a battle between former titles holders as former OPBF Super Flyweight champion Ryo Akaho (23-1-2, 16) battles against former Japanese Super Bantamweight champion Masaaki Serie (25-6, 10). On paper this is a great clash with Serie being the naturally bigger man and Akaho being the younger and fresher.
Another bout announced on the show is a rematch between Yota Hori (11-2-2, 6) and Musashi Suzuki (10-2, 4). The two men met back in January with Hori taking a narrow 8 round decision and this is a rematch that we're really excited about.
A fourth bout that has been announced for the show will see the very promising and highly touted Koki Koshikawa (1-0) taking on Yujiro Nakamura (4-7-1, 2). Koshikawa debuted earlier this year and defeated Quaye Peter and is expected to achieve a lot in the sport, he will however have to show a lot more than he did on his debut if he's to live up the expectation many have of him.
