We've known for a while that Daigo Higa (14-0, 14) [比嘉 大吾] would be defending his WBC Flyweight title on February 4th as he takes on former WBO Minimumweight champion Moises Fuentes (25-4-1, 14) in Okinawa, with Higa chasing a 15th straight KO.
Over the last 24 hours or so we've seen some interesting tid bits being revealed about the event
First we've seen the realise of the poster, which is focused entirely on Higa, rather than the bout at large. It does play, slightly, on the 15 fight KO run that Higa is aiming for, but seems more focused on him than anything else, which is proving the belief that his team and backers have, that he can hold up the entire show. That's not really a surpruise, given the bout is a home coming bout in Okinawa, but it is still nice to see so much confidence being shown in him.
The poster not only shows the belief in Higa and his growing star power but also suggests that Fuji TV will be airing the bout live on their main channel, from 7:57PM. A great little bit of news for fans hoping to see the destructive champion in action. For Japanese fans it's a prime time slot on a weekend whilst it's also at a time that Western fans can also tune in without the need to have an all nighter, or get up super early.
Sadly whilst there are things to be excited about there is still no real information about the under-card and there is a worry that fans at the venue will have little more than the main event to get excited about.
