Japanese veteran Kayoko Ebata, the reigning OPBF female Flyweight champion, has been added to the November 28th Ohashi show in the Korakuen Hall.
The show, which sees Ayaka Miyao defending her WBA Atomweight title against Gretchen Abaniel. Will now see Ebata fighting Mexican Nancy Franco in a bout for the IBF Minimumweight title in the co-feature.
Although we expect more details on the card to be released in coming weeks this looks like a fantastic match up on paper.
Although Ebata's record, which stands at 7-4 (4) isn't that impressive the 37 year old is on a 4 fight winning streak highlighted by a victory over Cho-Rong Son.
Likewise Franco's record isn't great either. The Mexican's ledger currently stands at 11-5-2 (4) with 2 losses in her last 5 bouts though she did defeat the highly regarded Ana Arrazola just 2 fights back.
We don't expect this to be as good as the Miyao/Abaniel contest though it should certainly be interesting and hopefully third time lucky for Ebata who has fallen short in 2 previous world title bouts.
