Japanese Super Flyweight champion Daiki Kaneko (18-2-3, 11) will make the 4th defense of his belt on August 3rd as he faces Mitsuya Omura (16-7-1, 12) at the Korakuen Hall.
This will be Omura's second attempt at a Japanese national title having previously lost in an attempt at the Japanese Lightweight title to the excellent Nihito Arakawa.
Talking about Nihito Arakawa (23-2-1, 15) the Japanese former Lightweight champion returns to the ring for his first bout this year as he takes on Thai Pakphum Tor Pornchai (0-1) in May. Arakawa has been out of the ring since a technical decision loss to David Estrada in Mexico and the 31 year old is perhaps looking at earning 1 more major fight before his career is over.
