Yesterday we reported that Morioka Boxing Gym had pencilled in their next card, "Art of Boxing 4", for March 26th at the Satsukiyama Gymnasium in Ikeda, Osaka. Today that show was officially announced, with Morioka announcing various fighters from the show.
As speculated yesterday we will see teenage sensation Hinata Maruta (4-0, 3) [丸田 陽七太] return to the ring and continue his rise through the ranks. Although his opponent for the bout wasn't announced it was confirmed that he would be in a 10 rounder and will be defending his WBC Youth Bantamweight, for the second time. The talented youngster won the belt last year, stopping Wilbert Berondo, and defended it in November, against Filipno southpaw Joe Tejones. It's now hoped that Maruta will face a more testing opponent and will continue to build on his very promising career.
Also set for the under-card are Brandon Lockhart Shane (7-5-1, 6), who we stated would be on the card yesterday and the very promising Naoto Iwai (3-0, 1) [岩井 尚斗], who will be in an interesting match up against Ryosuke Nasu (6-2-2,1) [那須亮祐]. There have been other bouts announced for the card, though the reality is that Maurta, Shane and Iwai are the three most notable men on the show.
At the moment it's unclear if the bout will be aired on any of the current media outlets, but it should be said that the last few bouts of Maruta has been shown on the Boxingraise service and the hope is that this one will also be featured on the service.
