In November the Boxing M Korean Welterweight champion Shin Yong Kim (4-3-1, 3) announced he would be retiring at the age of 38. As a result the title was made vacant.
It was soon revealed that the vacancy would be filled on February 9th, with a bout to crown a new champion.
The bout to fill the vacancy will see Yong Hwan Jun (4-4-1, 2) [전용환] take on Dong Young Kang (4-5-2) [강동영], with the bout taking place on a card which is also expected to feature a Boxing M Korean Cruiserweight title fight.
At the time of writing few other details are known about this show, though there are 6 Korea Vs Japan matches expected, with KBSN Sports broadcasting the bouts live.
