It's fair to say that there is a lot of belief in the ability of Kyrgyzstan born boxer-puncher Dmitry Bivol (11-0, 9) [Дмитрий Юрьевич Бивол]. The unbeaten man makes his first defense of the WBA Light Heavyweight title later today in Monaco, where he faces Trent Broadhurst (20-1, 12).
The belief in Bivol is seemingly shared not just with fans and promoters, but also the bookies, who have made the champion a 1/66 favourite to retain his title tonight, with some going to 1/100 to come out on top. That's compared to the odds of 28/1 available on Broadhurst to win, and the 40/1 on a possible draw!
Obviously backing Bivol wouldn't be the best for a sizable financial return but backing the method of victory market may be a little more tempting, with Bivol by stoppage being priced at 1/9. A decision win for the champion is available at 9/1. The challenger is a staggering 80/1 to win by decision and 25/1 to win by stoppage.
Arguably the most interesting market for the fight is the "Total Rounds" one. We won't go through all the rounds but 4.5 rounds seems to be the expected distance, with the over being priced at 17/20 and the under being priced at evens.
