The biggest fight of the weekend will see the return to the Macau ring of Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38) who will be defending his WBO Welterweight title against unbeaten American Chris Algieri (20-0, 8). Although the bout is clearly the biggest of the weekend it has been priced as a mismatch by the bookies who have Pacquiao priced at 1/8 as the winner to win. Algieri, despite being an unbeaten world champion himself, is seen as a huge under-dog at 13/2. The draw is priced around 30/1.
Of course for a bout as big as this there are more markets than just the "to win" market. and the "method of victory" market is certainly more interesting. Here we find Pacquiao priced at 4/5 to win inside the distance or at 7/4 to win a decision, suggesting that the bookies don't believe Algieri will last the distance. As for Algieri to win you can back him at 12/1 to win a decision or a huge 18/1 to win inside the distance.
With Pacquiao favoured for the stoppage it should be no surprise that the bout isn't expected to go the distance with odds of 4/6 on the bout ending inside the schedule and 7/5 to go the 12 rounds.
