Today in Saitama Japanese fans saw pro-test bout of Ayako Minowa [箕輪綾子] who passed in glowing fashion with a great performance to secure a B class license.
The former former female amateur star, who reached the Quarter final of the 2008 Women's World Amateur Championships, progressing further than Naoko Fujuioka and Nana Yoshikawa, sparred with Naoko Ebata [江畑 佳代子] and showed hew technical abilities as well as movement.
Aged 28 the future is bright for the newly signed Watanabe Gym fighter who could be another of the many Japanese females making waves on the world stage, and she certainly looks like a fighter who can be fast tracked given her amateur pedigree.
Whilstno debut date is yet set for Minowa she has the talent to be put in with a solid fighter and may well find herself in with a known quantity of some kind before the year is over with her team almost certainly viewing her as the next female star of the gym, following in the footsteps of Ebata.
Having mentioned Ebata today it was officially announced that she would be facing Kumiko Seeser Ikehara (8-1-2, 3) [池原シーサー久美子] in a rematch for the WBO female Minimumweight title on September 21st., as we reported back in July.
