Back in November we reported that Madiyar Ashkeyev (10-0, 6) [Мадияра Ашкеева] and Meiirim Nursultanov (9-0, 7) [Мейирима Нурсултанова] would be in action in January. Now their opponents for the January bouts have been announced.
The 30 year old Ashkeyev will be up against 32 year old Puerto Rican opponent Luis Hernandez (16-6, 9). Coming into this Hernandez has lost 4 of his last 5, though has never been stopped despite spending time in the ring against Esquiva Falcao, Terrrell Gausha and Juan Carlos Abreu. He's clearly a limited fighter, but a tough one and could give the unbeaten Kazakh some real questions to answer.
Nursultanov on the other hand will be facing off with the big punching Ernest Amuzu (24-4, 22), a US based Ghanaian fighter. Amuzu is 0-3 outside of Ghana, but has faced good opposition, losing in 2017 to Vijender Singh and in 2018 to Brandon Robinson. Despite being heavy handed he does lack in technical refinement and can be hit, which we expect to see the Kazakh do, at will.
