Tomorrow fight fans world wide will get the chance to see IBF Super Flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas (26-1-1, 17) defending his title against mandatory challenger Teiru Kinoshita (25-1-1, 8) [位帝里 木下] in a bout taking place in Australia, as part of the Pacquiao Vs Horn card.
Today the two men weighed in for their bout and both men made weight.
At the weight in a smiling looking champion was a full 1lb under the limit and looked calm, relaxed and full of confidence, as if he knew this was a chance to showcase his ability to the wider world. So far his career has bubbled under the radar for many fight fans, but a chief support place on a Pacquiao card is a huge opportunity to emerge from the shadows, and potentially join the mix at the top of the Super Flyweight table, where HBO are now putting in big money.
A more serious looking Kinoshita looked slightly drained and a lot less playful. It seemed as if the bout wasn't about making a name for him, but instead becoming a world champion, in what will be his second shot at the IBF title. He was a lot closer to the divisional limit and looked like a man who had pushed his body to make weight. Despite only being beaten once he is regarded as a huge under-dog here, but did sound confident in quotes given to the press, stating he was after a KO against the Filipino.
