Earlier today fight fans in Hyogo saw talented Japanese youngster Futa Akizuki (9-0, 7) [秋月 楓大] score his third win on Japanese soil as he over-came Filipino Vincent Bautista (5-7-4, 1) in a 1-sided 8 round bout.
The Japanese youngster controlled the tempo from the opening round and dropped the Filipino in round 3, from a series of body shots. The Filipino showed real toughness to recover but never looked like he was finding his way in the contest as Akizuki controlled the tempo and distance with his reach and speed.
At the the end of the 8 rounder Bautista had been out boxed, out fought and had only really remained in the fight due to his toughess. As a result he was pretty much shut out with the judges scoring the bout 80-72, 80-71 and 79-73 in favour of the 19 year old Taisei man.
Although on the losing end here Bautista proved his toughness once again. Although he now has 7 losses his only stoppage was a retirement Petch Sor Chitpattana, and he has now gone the distance against the likes of Masataka Taniguchi and Akizuki,
As for the Japanese youngster, the bout is his next step towards a notable title bout, and theres a good chance that by the end of this year he will find himself edging towards a Japanese title fight.
