Earlier today fans and the media had the chance to see the Akira Yaegashi (20-3, 10) in his opening training session ahead of his WBC Flyweight title defence against Roman Gonzalez (39-0, 33) on September 5th.
Yaegashi looked solid in the session though there was tension ahead of the bout. That tension is likely due to the fact that he knows that his up coming bout is a major challenge.
Although experienced at the world level Yaegashi and his team will be aware that Gonzalez is no typical fighter and that this is no normal bout. Gonzalez is a freak of nature with unbelievable power, speed, skills, ring-smarts and toughness. To get into a war with him is foolish.
At the moment 3 of the 4 world title fighters from "The Fight" card have published their open training days. The only man left is Thailand's Samartlek Kokietgym (17-4, 5) who will be fighting Yaegashi's stable mate Naoya Inoue (6-0, 5).
