Back in March we saw talented Japanese Middleweight Akio Shibata (25-8-1, 11) score a 4th round TKO win over limited Indonesian Michael Speed Sigarlaki. That bout was made on very short notice after Shibata's original opponent for the bout was injured in training, for what was originally a Champions Carnival bout.
Originally that bout was supposed to be a defence of Shibata's OPBF and Japanese Middleweight titles as he was scheduled to face domestic foe Yasuyuki Akiyama (10-4-1, 8).
Akiyama's injury was frustrating for both men who had gone through training camps, though thankfully the two have come to terms with the bout now have been remade for August 8th.
The newly remade bout will be the main event of Dangan 136 and will take place at the Korakuen Hall.
